Rami Wazni Featured in Los Gatos Magazine

Over the years, I have often been asked about my journey as an entrepreneur. It began with uncertainty, curiosity, and a commitment to keep moving forward. Recently, Los Gatos Magazine invited me to reflect on that path and share lessons around resilience, community, and the importance of consistent, people-first work. I am grateful for the opportunity and for the individuals and businesses who have allowed me to be part of their journey.

Q+A: Rami Wazni, Founder of Inikosoft

Rami Wazni is the founder of the Los Gatos–based digital agency Inikosoft, which has been a cornerstone of the local business community for more than two decades. At just 20 years old, Wazni was involved with one of the internet’s first reverse-auction startups, a venture that catapulted his career into the digital space. He would then move on to start Inikosoft with a vision to help local businesses thrive online at a time when most still relied on the Yellow Pages. For the past two decades, Inikosoft has called Los Gatos home, partnering with more than 10,000 companies across the Bay Area—including many local favorites—to deliver web development, branding and digital marketing solutions.

Q: LOS GATOS MAGAZINE: Why did you decide to start a digital agency?
A: RAMI WAZNI: My time in the startup world showed me how important it is for businesses to have access to the same quality of digital tools and strategies that big companies do. I wanted to level the playing field and help startups and small businesses compete online without needing a full in-house marketing team, all while making it accessible, affordable and personal.

Q: What was most challenging for you in the early stages?
A: Getting those first clients without a marketing budget. This was back when businesses were still advertising in the Yellow Pages. I would go through the book, find ads without website addresses, and cold call them. My pitch was simple: “You’re already paying for this ad. Now imagine how much more powerful it would be if you had a website to send people to.” That hustle set the foundation for everything that followed.

Q: What makes a digital agency great?
A: The people. You can have the best software and tools, but without passionate, creative and caring people, it won’t matter. A great agency is made up of a team that genuinely cares about the success of its clients and goes above and beyond to solve problems.

Q: How do you define success?
A: When your clients become your biggest advocates. If you deliver excellent results and build strong relationships, new business comes in through referrals, not ads. At Inikosoft, we reached a point where word-of-mouth became our primary source of growth. That was the moment I realized we were doing something right.

Q: How do you build trust with your clients?
A: Relationships are everything. From day one, we make it clear that money is secondary to trust and results. Taking the time to educate a client, guide them through their options, and make sure they’re making the right decision is what builds trust. Transparency like that leads to long-term partnerships.

Q: Do you see AI as a threat to agencies like yours?
A: Not at all! If anything, AI is an opportunity. The tools we have today can make us far more efficient and creative. But tools are just that: tools. Clients still need human insight, strategy and experience. They’re not just buying a service. They’re buying a relationship.

Q: What advice would you give someone who wants to get into digital media?
A: The tools will change. What will always matter is your creativity, interpersonal skills and ability to think strategically. Those are the qualities agencies are looking for when hiring.

Q: What trends do you see shaping the future of digital marketing?
A: Personalization and authenticity. Audiences are smarter than ever and can spot generic content a mile away. Businesses that tell real, human stories and create genuine connections with their customers are going to be successful.

Q: What do you love most about running a business in Los Gatos?
A: The community. There’s something special about working with local business owners, watching them grow, and knowing we played a role in their success. Even better is when those clients become our friends. Also, being part of this community for more than two decades has allowed us to give back. We try our best to support local schools, nonprofits, community centers, and Rotary Club events. It’s rewarding to see how our work contributes to the growth of both individual businesses and the community as a whole.
